I will be driving the new Thorhammer. 24' McKee Freedom Express, twin 175 Zook's. I've been out of the game for seven years since I moved inland and sold the big boat, so my gear has sat idle except a trip or two a year with a buddy. I decided I only have another ten years or so with my knees to fish offshore of NC on small boats, so when I found this deal I jumped. Price was good enough I will keep my Edgewater CC to keep hours down on McKee.
McKee is built a couple hours from me and has a great reputation; the Marine Patrol used them.
Nice machine John!
The McKee's are well built. Love the Zook's too. Best ratio on the gear box of all the outboards.
Wish you all the best with It. Lou
That's a winner for sure brother John. Bill
Great vessel, John —
Don't worry about 10 years from now, just take each day and make the most of it by helping others as well as yourself.
That McKee is a good start — and a solid investment in your angling expression.
Best Always,
Fred
Great Boat John! Best Wishes..................................Joe
Nice Rig! :o
Hey! congratulations. I'll be down next week. Dominick
nice boat John
I see lots of hours of fun in your future in that machine
Bring the Tank. I've got some AJ's on a spot that like to break 80lb braid. Accurate twin spin won't stop them.
If I can't come and it's a long shot, do you want to use the Tank? Dominick
I will be spending a few weeks debugging and rigging before I go offshore to Gulfstream but I would love to put the Tank on it when I do. I'll get back with you when I will be getting out. The wahoo bite will be on by then too. not much but slinger mahi now.
Beautiful Boat John!! :o
Nice boat! Looking forward to some carnage pictures
Get it rigged and get on the water, times burning!
Hey John, is this it? Dominick

SAWEEEEEEEEET !! :o :o
....but you'll still have to build reels cause its in your DNA forever ;) ;)
I Love it :D that's very nice ;D
Nice boat John, I hope you get many years of enjoyment with it. Good luck!
Might have to pay a visit. :)
Nice boat John, good luck with it, hope you catch your share of fish, love the idea of two outboards, plenty of power there for a boat that size, cheers Don.

Hey Sal, how about I fly to Philly and we drive to NC? We can make John work. He can bait our hooks and bring us cold beers while wearing Speedos. :D ;D Dominick
Looks good John. I'd say you'll have no shortage of a collection to mess around with on the boat
Need to make the short trip north
Nick
Congratulations, John. Looks like you'll be have a good time in the foreseeable future!
beautiful john, use it in the best of health. fishing and boating is just so fabulous, enjoy your new boat, smooth sailing. real pretty, nice lines. take care my friend, harryk
road trip!!!!!!!! ;D
I would love to fish the Ohana, but NO SPEEDO's. Bananas or banana hammocks not allowed on boats!!! ;D ;D ;D
Alan, when I came out, I spent as much time studying your prep and methods as I did anything, and will be reapplying. I was particularly impressed with your safety equipment, trailering back-up equipment, and the plumbing of the bait table. Game changers.
Not to mention the saki toast!
Congrats, what is the transom made of? I am early waiting to see the rigging.
oh, I am very attached to my red euro speedo :-)
Nice boat. Hope to see some pictures of her full of blood. The older I get, the more I dislike center consoles, as I appreciate hardtops and/or large biminis to stay out of the sun. Yes, you give up a little on the fishing maneuverability but the trade off is worth it to me.
Way to go.
Scott
Congratulations Thor. Only 10 more years? I am 67 and still take the pounding running out of Charleston in a 22 foot boat. However, the weather has not cooperated much this year and it looks like our first red snapper open weekend will be a bust as well. Post some fish pics when you get them!
Looks sweet !! Your only a short trailer ride from Vancouver Island to give it work out :D
Cheers:
Todd
Fantastic boat John! I see great fishing ahead. 8)
Great looking boat there buddy. I,m jealous of anyone that gets out and just goes fishing. Best of luck. Be safe. ;)
It wont be long and you,ll be broke! :'( Life passes us quickly, then theres our health. Live it up!!!!! :D
Will you be posting for deck hands? ::)
Nice boat! Welcome back to the water :)

..............I will keep my Edgewater CC t.....
that Edgewater seems like a nice boat, do you have pics of that boat?
Pics somewhere....Edgewater was started by a head engineer from Whaler, Bob Dougherty, and you can see the DNA of the Dauntless chines in the early Edgewater lines. The first ones were badged as Dougherty Yachts, which mine is, the 1800 Marlin. VERY good boats. I've had that 18 footer out 20 miles in the Atlantic (picking my days). It has a fully foamed hull and will take way nastier water than me knees will.
