Title: DRAG SETTING AND FISH SCALES
Post by: mjberrocal on August 28, 2011, 04:41:40 PM
Best place to buy drag setting scales and fishing scales manufactured by CHATILLON: http://www.scalesgalore.com/chfish.htm#ironclad

The 25 lbs scale is perfect for drag setting and quality is best in class.

the problem i had with my old chatillion scale was that the spring was plain steel and it rusted badly.  so badly, infact, that a 22 pound salmon actually weighed out at 27 on the old scale.  the shimano scales have stainless steel springs.  it would be nice if chatillion changed the spring to stainless.  that may have actually have changed.  didn't see anything on the website that said stainless steel.  hope they are.  alan

My spring scales rusted making the markings hard to see. I noted on ebay that digital scales have come down in price so much that I bought a 40kg one for less than $4. Accuracy to within 20gm so that's good enough. I can afford to throw away 50 before I reach the price of your Chatillon.
