Title: LX 6/3
Post by: steve w on September 06, 2011, 10:34:39 PM
Hello All

After the humiliating experience 2 years ago of having to send Alan a reel in pieces, I have gotten a little better, not perfect but better.

Just did a pinion and spool bearing replacements on an Avet LX, all went fine, reel works fine.  However with every complete rotation of the handle there is slight click....any ideas ???

Thought it may have something to do with a spring/armature for the anti-reverse ???

have taken it back apart a few times and can't get rid of the click

Ideas suggestions ?

Steve

Does it happen in just high or low gear? If so, you could have a tiny piece of junk in one of the main gear teeth. If it happens in both high and low, it might be something with the AR. See if the arm is bent the spring wire around the gear shaft is seated correctly. Finally, and the bearings on the drive shaft both good?

Problem solved !

Connection arm part # 26 installed over friction ring (retaining arm) part # 27 the problem, solution connection arm goes under friction ring (retaining arm)
