Title: Brand of Grease/Oil for Annual Penn Maintenance In Freshwater
Post by: rg on September 20, 2011, 03:54:42 AM
Hi,

Is there a brand of grease/oil you would recommend for annual service for a 430ss Penn reel fished in freshwater? Go with the generic cheapie stuff or use Penn blue grease or Shimano hot sauce or something else? I have heard it many different ways. Some say the pricey stuff is just a gimmick and others swear by it. This has probably been posted a gazillion times but I haven't seen anything specifically on a Penn in freshwater use. I mostly fish for Smallmouth bass.

Thanks!

for freshwater, probably even for saltwater, it really doesn't make that much difference, as long as you use SOMETHING!
