Title: CORK GRIP POTHOLES
Post by: edgarz on October 23, 2011, 12:16:15 PM
Hi all, what might be the best material to use for filling in holes in cork grips? Thanks in advance.

Check out this post. (It's in the fishing rod board, too.)

Thanks for the lead Norcal Pescador, the cork dust is a good one, any suggestions for a good glue?

About three methods/products here.  http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=1579.0
I've used carpenter's glue (made by Elmer's). A very small amount is needed to hold the cork bits and seems to be a little more water resistant than white glue. I haven't had to fix my (freshwater) cork grips much and my saltwater rods all have synthetic grips.
Good luck with it!

I'll try it out in small batches Rob with different types of glue before spackling the rod. Thanks.

Elmer's carpenter's glue should do the trick, as Rob mentioned. Try using the exterior grade. Good luck!
