Title: Daiwa drag and reel grease
Post by: upperscupper on October 30, 2011, 03:32:14 PM
Hi, Anybody out there know if  Daiwa's DSG505 drag grease is petroleum or Teflon based? if Teflon I would give a try on my carbon washers. Same question for the small (black and blue) tubes of grease that Daiwa reels come with?.  Pro's/con's  Thanks

just spoke to toby at daiwa usa (562-375-6800).  he says that daiwa uses a teflon based grease on their carbon fiber drag washer.  the grease used for the rest of the reel is lithium based.  they also have a light oil that is hydrocarbon based.  it's nice to see that daiwa has switched to carbon fiber and teflon for their drag washers.
