Title: Pro Gear Albacore Special Drag and Gear replacement
Post by: bsumoba on November 28, 2011, 06:34:22 AM
I have a quite a few pro gears and with the company being our of business, I wanted to know where I can get replacement parts. Mainly the gears, bearings, and drags.

I went on a 2.5 day on the pacific star and one of my cs500's seized and when opening it up, it looks like I completely wrecked the main gear on a 20 lb yellowfin about 3/4 into the fight  :'(

Here are the reels I have that I want to get spare parts for:

CS500
Albacore Special 282, 540, 542

thanks

i have some classic series parts.  for the albacore special and many of the others, i would have to track down the progear guy and hope he still has parts.  it's really hit and miss.

On the drags, best bet is to contact Dawn at SmoothDrag.  You could also try to match up something from Penn's HT-100s, but I would still go for SmoothDrag.

Good info guys.

Alan, I will pm you if I can make it wednesday but as of right now, we're a green light for after work.

I'll bring my CS500 and maybe you can take a look at it and see what might be the issue.

Thanks!
