Title: 1st time servicing a penn 310 gti
Post by: Eddie Hernandez on October 08, 2020, 01:11:00 PM
Serviced a penn 310 for the 1st time . Had a real easy time with this one i must be getting better at this 8). Everything checked out fine bearings and drag washers, it was just a simple clean and lube service, thank god! It was actually quite enjoyable! Whomever serviced this reel before used some red/orange colored type grease it was gunked up and sticky it was more like glue than grease, cleaned it all out and lubed with Blue Penn grease and Reelx, Purple cals for the drag washers.

It wasn't me.  ;D     I seem to remember finding that grease in reels a few times over the years, Eddie.  A bit more work getting it out.

Now go get another brand of reel and tear into it.  I really confused myself a few times doing that.  Congrats on the success.
