Title: Can you use Ferrofluid for Daiwa magseal oil?
Post by: GooseCreekRods on December 11, 2020, 06:32:09 PM
I've been looking for the magseal oil that they use in the Daiwa magseal reels and have been unable to come up with it. I was "told" that you can use Ferrofluid for the same thing. I just want to confirm that. You can get the Ferrofluid for $7 to $14. Anyone know for sure?

I just googled magseal oil and came up with one one ebay and one on amazon.  About $50.

"MF Fishing Magnetic Fluid Oil For Daiwa Mag Sealed Reel Steez Certate Luvias"

https://www.ebay.com/itm/322057934955

https://www.amazon.com/Fishing-Magnetic-Certate-Saltiga-Zillion/dp/B01DP0W54A

Edit:  I just read this in the ebay seller's description (same description on Amazon means same seller):

QuoteThis is not the Daiwa's product.
The Reelshop of Korea made the oil.
And We empathize the high price.
Because, the material is special and rare.
There are only two or three companies in the world that can make magnetic fluids.

I think I remember a whole thread about this, can't seem to find it though. Maybe check and see if you can
