Title: Penn 320GTi Eccentric Spring
Post by: Slug on April 11, 2009, 02:51:11 AM
Hi Alan,

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but ................. :P

One of my favorite old Penn 320GTi's was recently 'smashed' by an 'unstoppable' while fishing offshore.

On pulling it down, I find I have a snapped eccentric spring. Your fantastic rebuild tutorial doesn't quite go into detail on the eccentric lever
setup. Could you offer some advise on how to refit a new eccentric spring please  ???

PS  Also, I have rebuilt the reel without the spring, and now find I have no anti-reverse lock when the reel is 'in gear'. Is this related to the broken spring, or have I cocked something up when putting the thing back together?

Thanks again for your fantastic site
