Title: Weird Tekotas
Post by: Lunker Larry on September 05, 2021, 02:58:57 PM
I've done a ton of Tekotas but never came across this and was wondering if anyone else has. They are 600 Line Counter reels and on first look have nothing different than what you would expect. When I opened them up the grease was a dark brown, not the normal Shimano grease. It doesn't look like anyone has ever opened them up. Being LC reels they should have the automatic clutch engagement when the handle is cranked. These did not have those parts. They also did not have the anti reverse pawl and seemed shy of a couple washers too.
I don't think Shimano would make a cheap Walmart model or anything. Anyone come across this.
