Title: Penn 16 VSX.
Post by: Mjg378 on September 10, 2021, 11:05:23 PM
Picked this up a bit ago. Just finished putting it together.  Gave it the full treatment.  What a reel!   The only negative was under the reel stand some corrosion, otherwise it was in great shape. (There was a small "flake" less than 1/4" round on one the the drags which I was worried about,  but when I brushed it gently with a rag it disappeared). To test it, a solid 29-at strike before losing freespool,  40 at full and smooooth.  Clickers a little loud, I'll have to put more/thicker grease on the dogs...  Took the old braid off you see in the picture.  it's a good thing too, it was 3 different sections/types of braid, joined by uni knots! I'll have it spooled with 80 100(?) lb braid but I've got time to do that. I was planning on using it  this October but unfortunately plans change. For now it will sit on my desk.  Hopefully next year!
