Title: Piscifun Salis X 5000
Post by: Lunker Larry on September 13, 2021, 06:51:07 PM
Got this in today. Never had one on the bench so I thought I'd share. Piscifun is a Chinese reel. The owner said he paid $135 for it, shipping and all.
It is a large, heavy, simple  reel but I think not bad for the money. Boasts 33lbs drag. The frame is composite or plastic. Can't tell, but the base plate in both sides of the reel are pretty heavy metal, giving it the weight it has. It has a clutch bearing and two AR pawls and CF drag. The shortcoming I see is the plastic guides on the yoke and the posts for the idler gears on the left side plate may be a touch long and could possibly be a weak point like the new Tekota HG. Not as long as the Tekota but close.
Here's a few shots to acquaint yourself with the reel. Enjoy.

Drive train looks a whole like a Sealine SLSH. Be interesting to see any reviews.

Interesting. 2–idler gears and it looks like a plastic click gear. The plastic yolk guide inserts might be a good thing if they hold-up. At least 5 parts that would be cheap to replace. What's a "clutch bearing"?, the dealie on top of the pinion gear?
