I have the PC 501. Send the Seigler Star Mag to me and I'll do the comparison. HA! Kiddin Farmer. Would like to find out, though. Nobody seems to mention the Seigler reels, here...

thanks for the reply Gfish... is  the outside diameter  of the pro challenger 501 reel allot smaller than the penn side plates ????

Never noticed that. I'll check it out. The spool size has gotta be the same as the Penn 501? I really like the PC 501 Mag. It feels more solid than the Tib. Frame—2-side alum. plate reel. and it has a nice, less noisy clicker.

Gfish ... measured my squidder side plates against  my pro challengers sides and over the knobs by the screws the diameter is aprox. 1/8 th in. smaller on the pro and over the rest of side plates it's just short of 1/4th in.  smaller ..... in my mind  the pro just feels smaller and very nice .... sooo can you say the same with your jig. frames....... does it feel more like a squidder or a jigmaster    ...  thanks Gfish for your input ..   farmer56 out..... dennis
