Title: Tiburon Frame for Penn Jigmaster Spool - Getting rubbing sound on spool
Post by: Fishgolfman on November 12, 2022, 03:42:23 PM
Not familiar with system of Tiburon Frame and Bakelite Jigmaster plates. The Spool rubs when I free spool unless I loosen adjustment on non handle side which generates too much side play. Any suggestions to correct the issue?

The bearing adjustment screw is supposed to be backed off so the spool has .0025 to .005 side play whether it is in the original frame or a aftermarket frame. It could possibly be the right side bearing is worn out due to having been used as a thrust bearing by an over adjusted left bearing screw.     Rudy

Solved by changing non handle spool side bushing and going with a Newell spool vs that of a Penn spool. now spins great in freespool
