Nice writeup. I have one of these from Keith that I've been dying to string up and throw a lure or two. I opened it up and was sufficiently impressed. Ive just been too distracted by other shiny objects.

I started here and then thought it would be better in the other section. But couldn't find where to delete the whole thread.
The Bantam was sort of revoutionary in its day. Asymmetrical and low profile, disengaging levelwind and stuff like that. It's primative by today's standards but still a darn good reel that is easy to service and modify. Thank you Lew Childre for everything you did.
Yea, Lou Childre pretty much inaugurated modern baitcasting.
