I have 2 aacu frames, spools for a 112 wide. Can you upgrade the drags and if so how manty pounds of drag can be expected?

the absolute maximum is 15 pounds, but that will damage the gears.  figure 8-10 pounds for a good working load.  i would just grease the drag washers (make sure you have all carbon fiber) and install a stainless steel gear sleeve http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=157.0  with heavier drag settings, the stainless steel gear sleeve is essential.  then decide what kind of handle you want.  this could get very expensive very quickly, and for a reel that will not deliver THAT much drag.
