Title: penn 30 vsw drag performance kit
Post by: thefever on February 28, 2012, 02:02:19 PM
Hello all First post, this site was given to me by the hull truth guys. I am trying to install the penn 30 drag performance kit. Does any one know if the diagram is wrong ?
It shows
               () ()==============]]==
where the washers replace four washers on the left, or long side of the pinion gear
however when disassembled it is
                     ===============]]== () ()
with the only four washers in the whole reel are on the right side, or short side of the pinion gear. This is also the setup in exploded diagrams.
So my question is do the washers replace the washers on the right side of the pinion gear ? Or are they supplemental and get added to the long side of the pinion gear ?
Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you.

they are made to replace the old ones, they go on the gear end of the pinion.

welcome!  if you mike out the bellevilles, you will probably find that they are 5 to 10 thousanths thicker.  it can dramatically increase your drag curve.
