Team Tani .... Thought I'd
preemptively pick the collective
consciousness. A neighbor gave me
this Wondercast . I know nothing
about their construction and/or
maintenance. All I've noted so
far (just observing ) is the
Thumb push lever doesn't click
or remain in the "cast" position
without the thumb in contact
( crappy explanation I know ).
Are there any surprises I should
be aware of upon dissection ?
Springs becoming airborne? Etc.
thanks in advance ... I'm a novice
with this type of reel.

I like these as old-school, mostly metal spincasters. All I have for the Wondercast series(there are several names in the series, I have a couple of "spin wonder reel"s too) is a partial disassembly photo of a 1796. The only somewhat complicated system is the pinion shaft, especially if it's equipped with levelwind parts. For me, I just hadda get the old grease out of the way. No surprise springs that sprung into nowhere-ville. Just a couple of small E clips that were easy. It's not a hard reel to get into...
The 1796 drive and side-plate parts.
Perfect GFish ... looking forward
to tackling this one . Just no-
ticed... the anti-reverse is not
exactly "solid". Will have to
investigate. Thanks for the
insight.
