Title: Triton Beast Master 30/50 2sp
Post by: Captain Mike on August 17, 2023, 03:25:48 PM
The drag on this reel cannot be set.  Tighten the preset knob all the way and still no drag.  Upon disassembly found this nasty substance in the left side plate and on the pressure plate 'part #TT 0123A'(See photos)
Cleaned all out of reel.  I believe the mess was caused by an integral part of the pressure plate like another Drag washer. (Possibly the clutch pad plate 'part# TT 0124A') The schematic I have is hard to read the part #'s.
The part they ID on the schematic as the clutch pad plate is actually a rubber seal.
Can someone with experience with this reel confirm that I need a clutch pad plate.

Thank you,

Captain Mike

Hi Mike,

I've done this a few times and it's pretty straight forward.
The reel will have a new lease on life.
Let us know if you run into any issues sourcing or fitting the new pressure plate.
Good luck, Justin
