Title: Penn Fathom NSD Eccentric Jack Question
Post by: Classtime on August 20, 2023, 03:47:16 PM
The user (not me) forced the Eccentric Lever to disengage the spool and bent the pin on the eccentric. I replaced the eccentric but the lever is still a little iffy sometimes whether it will move back and I'm afraid if he uses it, the same thing might happen. What if I took a file to the Eccentric Jack or the Pinion Yoke to make it a little smoother? Or is there something else I should do?

Thanks,
Jeff

sometimes the essentric spring is to long were it fits through, & it will drag on the plate, if thats the problem you can generally see were it is scoring the plate, shorten the pin on the spring, you can also use a file as you said, or finnish it of with some wet n drie cloth, it all helps, good luck cheers Don.

If there's any load on the line like a fish hanging , heavy weights and such moving eccentric lever back can be difficult. Try using a little thumb pressure on the spool to remove weight pulling against the spool and then move The eccentric lever into freespool position.
