Title: Norcal Striper
Post by: Night of the Hunter on March 07, 2012, 04:42:21 AM
Hello, I am looking forward to learning and contributing when I can.  Stripers are great but I enjoy fishing for bat rays too. ;D  I have a few old school Penn greenies and Z's and will fish them a little more this year.  Thank you Alan for a fine forum.

Welcome.  Stripers are fun.  Fished outside the surf out of the golden gate by backing the boat into the surf, fly-lining live anchovies with my 704Z with 15# mono.  Oh that was fun.

Bryan:  I fished for Rooster fish that way.  It is pretty scary to see the sandy beach just below the back of the boat. The Captain I fish with handled it smoothly though.  Oh yeah!  Welcome Night of the Hunter, glad to have you aboard.  Dominick

The sandy beach below the boat is no big deal.  It's the waves at the front of the boat that should scare you. ;D
