Sorry chaps, but it's me again.
I was delighted with the help you offered when I foolishly lost a few little bits from 80STW I'm servicing and Alan kindly posted me what I needed.
Now, I'm just putting those little gear stud pins back in the brass/bronze gear change thing when I notice that those tiny little pins have a flat end and a rounded end. I guess that means they have a right and a wrong way to go in and butt up against the spring-loaded plunger inside. Looking at the schematics, I can't tell which end goes in and which end sticks out.
Not noticed that they were different before, and I did service another 80STW a few years ago.
I know I could tear down my other 80STW to see, as that one has a gear change that works fine, but I hope someone here can save me the bother.
Which way round do they go? Anyone know for sure? Roundy end out/flat end in or flat end out and rounded end in? Or doesn't it make any difference?
Thank you!
rounded end outside! ;D
Thank you!
;D
I promise not to drop them :-[
no worries. let's just get this back together and working!!!
I know this thread has gone cold but the reel is all back together again and working perfectly.
Thank you as always for all the help and advice.
Glutton for punishment - I've just taken in a mate's Daiwa 900 to service for him as he's donating it to a charter boat captain we both know. Spotted the boss's thread on this one - excellent!
