Title: New in the box international 50s

I just purchased what looks like 2 new in the box international 50s and would like to know the year they were made.
The serial numbers are ND4348 and LD2614

there is a board here that is followed by penn.  as there and you should be able to get an answer.

Interesting, these don't seem to follow the old original serial# date code, or the newer [current] code.
Using the old code, they "might" have been built in 1994 and 1992, respectively, but I am pretty sure the new code was already in use by then.
Are they "50S" models [2-speeds], which came out in 1987, or just "50" [single speed] models, which came out in around 1967.

We started using the serial number system as we know it now around 1969/1970.  Any International made before that would have your style serial number.  Your reel(s) were made between 1967 and 1970.
