Title: “Saving old reels one at a time” here is one I restored tonight

First Ocean City Dover Club reels I've seen.
It's also a Take-A-Part reel coin rolled .
It still has 95 % of the original patina .
Here is the before and after pics. �

I am really impressed the build on the OC reels. That frame looks like it's all one piece.

Alan Tani check out the drag in this reel!
It does have a drag, just not the type a modern fisherman are accustomed to. It is a Conical drag that is very sensitive. That is why the drag wheel is so small. it responds to very light movement. That is also why it did not stay in production. The disc type that followed it was far superior to it.

Strange looking drag but I can see how it'd work. But, yeah, a stacked disc drag would be a lot better! It cleaned up nice, would make a nice shelf queen!
