I have 2 Baitrunner d reels that the baitrunner switch won't go fully into the drive position when the handle is turned.I opened the reel and lubed the baitrunner trip parts but I still have the problem.Could it be the trip mechanism or a spring?

The baitrunner "cam" (#13244 on the schematic) and the body opening it goes through get slightly corroded over time (there's no seal on them) and can make it stick. Take the reel completely apart (slightly awful, I know) and lightly sand the ends of the cam and the body.
