Title: 3 in 1 oil
Post by: Dunky on May 31, 2024, 02:00:35 AM
Yea or nay? I bought corrosion x and I also had a bottle of bass pro premium reel oil.  I heard someone say no need for expensive oils.  3 in 1 is great and is much cheaper?
Thx

I prefer synthetic oil like Liberty oil ,work better for bearing and bicycle chain ,also won't attract dirt

3in1 oil will lose its viscosity after use and is not so good in reels if it gets exposed to moisture. Works great on power tools, fans, vise, socket wrenches, pliers, cutting oil, door hinges and that sort of stuff where its not exposed to moisture. I believe its a type of mineral oil. Originally made of fish and whale oil. TSI 321 is well worth the investment.

Use a quality synthetic oil like Super Lube, Lucas Reel Oil, TS321, etc. For reels, 3 in 1 is better than WD40, or nothing, but that's about it.

A $20 bottle of TSI will last a hobbyist almost a lifetime. A tube of super lube will last years. It's almost a one time investment.
