Post by: ksong on July 12, 2024, 10:24:43 PM
After successful debut of Surfster Moderate surf rods, We are going to introduce 10'6", 11" and 12' Ron Arra Pro Special rods and blanks.

I have been working with RON Arra to develop Ron Arra Pro Special rods for a while. Finally Ron Arra pleased the action and power of new prototype rods with delight.

He said " They are certainly the Best I have ever tested ! "

The 10'6" 1 - 6 oz and 11' 1 - 5 oz rods will be here by the end of Sept.

Mike Basnite got two big permit using prototype 12' Ron Arra Pro Special 2 - 8 oz and 3 - 10 oz rod by JS USA today.
He said long cast was necessary to reach to permit from the shore.
Mike said " They are my favorite rods you ever made."
I am happy and glad I delivered the rods to him by driving 19 hours. 🙂

Interesting, I thought, with long cast rods, the reel clamp was much closer to the butt end of the rod, cheers Don.

Maybe you're thinking of casting competition rods?  Having the reel seat really close to the butt doesn't work well for fishing situations except for fly fishing.

the reel seat on all my alvey rods, is only about 6 inches, up from the bottom of the rod, very good for casting and winding in with the reel, cheers don.
