Title: 1936 Hardy Altex no.2 mk.IIII mechanical gear bail with transparent spool

Another no.2 mk.IIII mechanical bail and another Dennis Ward assembled reel.

I purchased this one to strip, but upon receiving, it was so vintage sweet, I decided to leave her be and oil only.
I don't think any screws have ever been touched by a screwdriver, but for the rear badge, for oiling, and capstan screw.

This old girl was factory fresh smooth at first touch. I just hit with fresh oil and wiped it down.

The Bakelite spool was very nice with bright red script and capstan screw has some slot scruff, but I tidied it up with a flat needle file and quick sanding.

This 1936 model just shows how great these works of art are. So smooth and mechanically sound after almost 90 years. Crazy.

Took her out and caught 26 crappie first trip. She handled without fail!

Anyways, hope you all enjoy!
