I noticed many people here only use Cal's grease on the drag disc, and use yamaha marine grease or penn grease on the gears and such. My question is, why do you not use Cal's on the gears? I am using Cal's on drags and gears, but I used to use cal's on the drags and yamaha on the gears. Only difference I notice is the yamaha grease looks to be a bit thicker but seemed to work fine too.
I am just curious why so many dont use cal's on the gears but do use it on the drag disc.
$$$. Cal's costs more, the other grease is adequate for the job
