Does anyone know how to remove a pinion bearing from an AVET SX 5.3 MC? Not only is the pinion rusted into the bearing, but the bearing itself is stuck into the side plate.
Some of the avets have 2 small holes on the side plate that you can knock out with a punch. If no holes you can try to wiggle out ... I use a pin thar fits the hole. If the pinion won't come our you can grab it and try to wiggle out but that will wreck the pinion. One last option is to drill a small hole , align with the race and punch it out. Good luck.
