D.A.M. Quick reels,  West Germany, great reels. I had one of those spinners 50 years ago. It was a solid well engineered reel which gave me great service over a long time. The company is still in the reel business. I doubt if spares are available for this model. ;)

They are collectable now. Is this your model?
They made a two speed spinner too, lovely bronze gearing and great German engineering.

Thanks for the info.
I took the reel apart yesterday. A real simple design that works like a top.

Hi guys,
Anyone who can tell me something about the DAM Quick Royal ?
On the paper looks nice ... super drag ... cheap enough, but what is really inside of this german reel ? - well, maybe not absoluty german, now is property of Daiwa - .

Hi Javier,

made a short review about the reel in a German Board last month.
www.norwegen-angelforum.net/showthread.php/47996-Vorstellung-DAM-Quick-Royal-960-FD/page3?highlight=DAM+Quick
refers #15  (open the pdf)

can confirm that it is a very strong reel. Friends tested the reel two weeks in Norway and landed cods of over 20kg with ease without any malfunction.

Before first fishing the reel must be proper regreased, especially the gear. The cf washers are dry and should be greased with Cal`s.

For the small money a good buy.

Alan Hawk did a review on a 80's Dam Quick reel. In his review he mentions the Super. Here's a link.

The new ones are not recommended by me. I have the 2000FD and the anti reverse has failed on it after very little use. The other problem is design. They are by far the worst spin reel to service. I even had problems with screws not being long enough to start the thread. Very strange. Also the line tends to get caught on the drag knob. Give me a Daiwa or Shimano any day.

Thanks for the file Wolli, that's what I want to see, the inside !.
Just take a look at the pics of the pdf, I don`t understand german, but the images says enough.
It's is a heavy reel, the shaft (steel) has really big diameter ... so big. Also the steel gear, heavy.
Line Roller is so much simple, must be greased day after day ...,
Looks like a nice reel for the price.
Thank you all,
