Title: Out chasing trout in the local creek today
Post by: tincanary on September 09, 2024, 03:36:54 AM
The water was mighty low and clear, managed to get 4 small rainbows and a couple of decent browns.  In the photo is my 'last ditch' hole, a spot I often wrangle out a decent fish on the way out of the water.  This pool is usually a good 6' deep or so, but with the water being down it was probably 4'.  I worked a slow sinking minnow around the wood, but didn't get rewarded unfortunately.  Still a great day on the water nonetheless.

excellent..

I was up near BWCA on Lake Superior, had heard rumors of a pink salmon run in the creeks there. Most of the creeks were so low they didn't even reach the lake.. so the salmon were presumably staging somewhere offshore.
The local fly shop said, hang around for a month or so, you're bound to find them then  8)
but I had to go back to work..
