Title: Shakespeare True Blue 1956 FK
Post by: Steve V. on October 20, 2024, 03:51:13 AM
Hi everyone,

I'm servicing a reel for a friend and I need a schematic for a Shakespeare True Blue 1956 FK if anyone has one.

Thanks,

Steve

Here's a maintenance video:

While he provides a ton of useful videos, I would't trust this guy 100%.  When I was looking for info on an oddball Triton mag, I watched him put the magnet in backwards in the video.  I think that you will also find better advice on general maintenance techniques and best practices at this site (but I am biased :) ).

But that True Blue is simple enough that it will be hard to get wrong, even without any instruction or schematic.

I give him credit for at least opening up an awful lot of reels and showing folks what the innards look like.

I think he cuts a lot of corners but I'll check him out if I have a reel I've never been into before. At least then I get an idea of what might be in store.

Thanks for the help guys! Y'all are right, very easy to work on. What would be the best way to clean this gunk off of it in an ultrasonic? I'm assuming it's German Silver. Would lacquer thinner be ok?

Thanks,

Steve

I like the sturdy looking frame on these older baitcasters. Dennis needs a stiff nylon brush for parts like the worm gear.
