I'm having trouble getting this reels lever drag lever and assemble to go back together correctly.
Pulled it apart to clean and oil bearings, now I'm stuck, tried 3 times and I know I must be doing it wrong. Is there a trick I'm missing? Or is it my stupidity to blame?
I'm the only one around here that's stupid, Ha-ha! No stupid here, just learning, sometimes it's trial and error. What's it doing after reassembly?
Hi Gfish, as I resemble the Drag Lever assembly I can't get the components to stack or seat down far enough to get the main shaft washers and The main shaft nut to be installed, I run out of room and the threads on the Main shaft aren't exposed out far enough after stacking the other components . Ive tried many time now and keep failing. I'm thinking the Pinion tension spring is binding or the drag cam isn't seating properly. I usually love working on my lever drag reels because they are so simple, but this one has me stumped.
Try pushing the spool towards the gear side. Sorry if that's obvious or not helpful.

Main shaft usually refers to the shaft that holds the main gear. I assume that you are referring to the spool shaft.
In this video around the 20 minute mark there is a tip that getting that drag plate to seat properly on the pinion is tricky, how to recognize and seat it properly. If it does not seat properly, then the end of the spool shaft will not stick out far enough past the sideplate. Could this be your issue?

You sure you have the pinion in the correct way, gee now I got the bugg, you`ll have me scratching my hair out, cheers Don.

Another one I found-out about the hard way, was on the Accurate Lever drags; you had to push the spool shaft from the tail-plate side to get an E clip onto the end of the shaft, where it emerges on the gear-plate side. Taking it off was even harder and that's when I bent the E clip.
