I can't help but feel like current regs/season has had a hand in all these tragedies. With only a few fishable days people are taking big risks going out in bad seas because they feel like they have to. I feel some pressure myself to get my son out there for some crabs/rockfish but there is not a chance I risk his/my life for it.
people will run for tuna and crab during really bad weather. these same guys would turn around if the target was salmon or rockfish. so sad..... :-\

Yeah. That's oftentimes what the commercial guys complain about.
I just sold someone that same model of boat this summer. Thank God it's not him but he's been out in the mess.
Crab is good but it's not worth dying over!
This is the third roll over I've heard of. Four people from the first incident still haven't been recovered as far as I know.
