Title: Shimano MIZ 30
Post by: Lunker Larry on November 27, 2024, 10:35:26 PM
I have a Miz30 that needs a handle.
I've had this reel for who knows how long and no idea where I  got it but after finding it in a box today it impressed me. It's no lightweight and serms to be a very sturdy reel. Just needs a handle.
Anyone have a schematic?

Actual model name is MLX. Schematics are out there; I will post one if someone doesn't beat me to it. Nice reels. A bit of a funky drag set up.

I think it's actually MLZ. There is a similar MLX,though.

Yep, MLZ are the chrome bodied ones; MLX are black.  MLX has a Fast Cast-type setup; MLZ does not.  Few other differences.  Here is a MLZ30 schematic; they made some minor changes over the years, so if this schematic does not look exactly like the reel you have, check reelschematic.com for other schematics.  I have some of both the MLX and MLZ.  Nice metal bodies with metal spools.  Parts hard to come by. Have used my MLX300 on some pretty good sized fish with no difficulties.

Thanks Frank for the schematic.
I figured parts would be tough to find. Probably why I put it aside long ago.
I'll keep poking around . You never know.
