Title: Stuffed fish for Thanksgiving?!?
Post by: Brewcrafter on November 28, 2024, 10:44:03 PM
Been working with SWMBO and Son in the kitchen today, and doing the standard "traditional" type fare and have friends coming over with dishes as well.  This year, another first for me: spatchcocked the turkey and going into the oven.  BUT then it got me thinking (maybe beer was involved?) any reason why not to stuff a nice whole fish?  Rock cod with an oyster dressing?  Halibut with a shrimp/crab stuffing?  A nice whole, butterflyed salmon?  I have had some wonderful whole roasted fish, so starting to think ahead to next year or possibly Christmas.... :d

Spathcock the fish (remove backbone) to make more room for the stuffing.  Spathcock might not be the right word because fish are neither cocks nor fowl.

Was just thinking what crab would taste like inside of a fish.  Amazing it is.  Will have to try it.
