Title: Where to buy Tiburon Frames
Post by: Classtime on November 30, 2024, 05:14:35 PM

They are probably a click away but I can't find any. And Tiburon's site is under construction. Specifically I'm looking for a P21 for my 501 before I put the 5+1 drag stack in.

Vintage offshore tackle (Randy) might have something. He's in the vendor section here
I like the accurate frames better if you can find one somewhere
Also the Cortez conversions bars and bases are a good option, plenty strong and saves a bit of weight. He's on here too

Thanks.
Tiburonengineering is under construction but the Tiburonfishing link is good. I'll find out what Randy has and if he also has a SS sleeve and fine thread star  :fish

Any more  frame and spools for a 501 available?

I have 501 Newell kits, but the only have one-piece frame that I have at the moment is a black Tiburon 501 frame that has one screw broken off on each side that you could have for $30.

I don't think that it's a functional problem with five screws remaining on each side.  It would be very difficult, but not impossible, to drill out the broken off screws and re-tap the holes.

I have had a 10% or less success rate drilling out corroded screws in reel frames using a mill.  A bit of grease prevents a lot of greaf.

Your stock 501 spool will work fine, but I do have both Newell and Penn aluminum spools if you need an extra.
