I'm thinking its on the inside pinion
I just noticed in the photo
the large pinion has a raised lip that I assume goes against the opening side
were as the small pinion doesn't have a raised lip
its just a pain unscrewing them when you are wrong  ;D

After playing with the Japanese made shimano ,the quality in there product is notable compared to the Malaysian made shimano
The graphite frame is so nice

Is that just a flat washer? I cannibalize the shims out of cheap spinning reels when they're going in the trash. Most of them that I have taken apart have a shim(washer) on top of the main gear. Sometimes it's copper, sometimes brass. Guess they use a variety of materials for a shim there depending on the cost of the reel.

yep that's it
main gear drive has a raised lip were the bushing sits against it
the small drive has nothing
I pulled the drive off again and fitted the flat washer were the small cog is so the internal bushing has something to rest against
It actually feels better to whined
I will let sleeping dogs lye and see how it goes
