Title: Twin Power XD 3000XG
Post by: rebait1 on December 24, 2024, 06:02:38 PM
Well I pulled the trigger on a  new yellowtail rod (crowder) and reel. Got tired of old stuff. Was looking at stradic, but went with the Twin Power. The reel feels amazing! I must be crazy. Just checking to see if anyone is fishing these Twin Powers, I hadn't heard of this Shimano model.

Ps after the fact I realized I should have spooled w 15 lb braid not 12lb mono

A very wise decision. I have serviced both reels and anyone that knows me knows I am not a Shimano fan. That being said, the Twin Power is a tank! I'm very impressed with the quality. I don't fish them but have a couple of friends that do, thus the service end. Great reel. Enjoy!

Alright!
I had an older Stratic 8000. Not impressed with how the rotor bail arms would flex a bit under stress. Who knows though, that could be a cushion that might prevent breakage somewhere else.

high end spinning shimano reels are nice, congrats

I havent check that reel but had seen the stella and saragosa and both have pretty good seals and drag, TP is not much different
