Just thought I would quickly say "hello" to all of you on the Forum and thank you in advance for your wisdom and experience! I am a long time fisherman. I began fly fishing as a young boy with my father in Pennsylvania. This was followed by many years of Great Lakes salmon fishing. My wife and I have recently moved to the beautiful central coast of Maine for what is likely to be our last chapters which I hope will be filled with years of lobster, scallops, cod, halibut and any other seafood I can entice to take my bait😊
I have joined the Forum to get advice on a couple of topics:
The first, is the restoration of two abused Penn Senator 114H reels that I "inherited" from the lobsterman who sold us his home. I thought I would give details about the reels in the "Penn Senator" section of the Forum. Would you say that is the appropriate place for this post?
The second, is to get advice on the appropriate Penn reel for a couple of pristine 1938 wood and bamboo rods. I have dreams of "going retro" with these Ernest Hemingway era rods. I thought I would post the details regarding the rods in the section on "Penn Vintage" or "Fishing Antiques and Collectables". Any thoughts on where to best post this question?
Although I am eager to get advice on the above topics I think I will wait until I know what section is the best to post them.
Thank you again!
Fen
