Title: building a Tuna jigging rod
Post by: retiredandfishing on January 23, 2025, 01:34:57 AM
Just wondering if anyone here might have some insights into what blank and hardware to use on a custom
tuna jigging rod.  Will be used primarily for Albacore here in the Northwest.  Looking at a 7 to 7.6 ft rod length, customer is leaning towards 7.6 ft.

Thanks, Steve

A blank rated for 25#-30# is what I would use.

Beautiful build.  I too like Rain Shadow blanks.  Went to Squim and got a tour of the warehouses and Bill Batson's office.  In that office was a collection of custom rods that you have to see to believe.
