Title: Penn International Black 'Rubber' Handle restore
Post by: JJHCenterville on February 16, 2025, 08:26:28 PM
Hi is there any way to polish the black 'rubber' handles on some of the Penn Internationals.
I have 4 16VS reels that have the black rubber football shaped handles.  I would like to avoid buying new ones.

I know you are hesitant to buy new handles, but I would definitely think about replacing the old style football knows for Alan's hard plastic handles.  I put them on nearly all reels that will see big fish. The 2 on the right are Alan's. The middle is one of Ted's and the 2 on the left are stock.  Bill

I have to agree with my man, Billy-boy. You might try to polish up stock knobs with 2000 grit W/D and Back-to-Black, but it's likely not permanent. I put Alan's grip and blade on all my Int.'s, and many other larger reels.
