I was on the quest to find a Crack 300 or a Luxor 3 for modification when I stumbled across these beautiful specimens.
New in box with receipt. Someone paid 23.00 on 10/26/73.
The 2nd reel was a hardly used, looks to be never mounted example.
Obviously I couldn't cut these up so I found a beater Luxor #3 to modify instead.

I have a bunch of old beat up French reels that I have zero interest in. I will look and see what I have. You know, for the crack-heads out there.

PM Me, send some picture if you could.
These are great reels. I stumbled across a Luxor B factory Bailess and a crack factory Bailess. Both have no provisions for the bail mechanisms. And the line roller doesn't have the hole to insert the wire. I used to drill and modify. But I stopped. I like keeping them original and enjoy the patina of its years in service and battles. At most I'll drill under the rotor and shave the spool so sand won't lock em up if they take on a wave.
I saw this guy is it the Amercan cousin? Looks nice
