These guys are beefy and bring the max drag capacity up from 6lb to 11lb.  Simon made these himself and boy are they smooth. That's an Avail pinion on the left, good for a whole 2lb of drag.  Simon managed to pull this off keeping the factory diameter of the gears.

These also bring up the retrieve rate to 23" per turn while factory 4.7s were good for 16" and 5.3s at 18".  Faster and stronger.  Spring steelhead will be running soon in these parts.

I had some dealings with Simon a couple years back. First rate quality on everything I got, and he built me a spool out of his last parts for a 1973 6500C large capacity. He was extremely communicative through my project.


Oh yeah. My boy built a reel; I almost forgot  >:D

Looks great and what an upgrade on the gear!!! As I finish settling in from temporary relo, I'm getting into the box of Abu's  to play with. Imma be ringing you for some guidance...
