Still raining, possibility of snow tomorrow and Wednesday.
Finished up these (3) small vintage spinning reels yesterday.
All completely disassembled, removed old hard greases and crud, polished and burnished every part inside & out, lubed & bagged.
The old small Luxor Pezon & Michel is in George Thommen's "The Complete Guide to Spinning Tackle" book from 1954. So this reel is a little older than that. Appeared to have never been cracked open.
The Zebco 777 is likely around 1962, or so. Zebco acquired Langley in '62 —- and changed the model line-up with new numbers and black instead of Langley green & grey. But these were originally Langley's, and all of the parts will interchange.
The Mitchell black 408 is more modern, likely late 70's. Made in France.
All are ready to fish.
Just realized that I am close to out of my last order of 500 white & orange cloth reel bags. Time to order another 500 and get them screen printed.
Best, Fred
Wow, those are now beauts, Fred. :al :D :d
Fred, what colors this time? Your collectors need to know.
Hopefully, the same. White for the larger reels. Insignia Orange for the smaller guys. Keeping the Forest Green lettering.
If my supplier has Pink bags, I'll get those, then do lime green lettering.
Best, Fred
