Title: Rewrapping A favorite rod
Post by: oldmanjoe on April 05, 2025, 07:01:55 PM
One of my favorites had guides frames that broke . Ca held for awhile but when the second onebroke ,it`s time . Heat gun and scrape the guides and under wrap off .  Clean the blank and set up the new guide train .   I went with a bigger stripper to start with and did my static tests with 2 1/2 pounds hanging .

The blue tape is for the under wrap locations , after wrapping all the under wraps and prepping the feet of guides ,I start tying ..    Break time just a few more to go..

Looks like great progress Joe! Took me about 2 weeks to tie a new guide train on a rod, but it was my first time. Hope to see yours sooner than that.
