Member wanted a High Speed 221, along with a high speed 110 Microlite.
Built each with all new parts.
This is an interesting set —- since the gear casings on each reel are the same size —- difference is the spool, rotor, and line capacity.
Notice the longer crank on the larger 221 —- this gives the angler the ability for more torque, control, and to keep the bait/lure moving above the bottom when in current, along with swifter retrieves.
Both are high speeds at 1:5.
If these were manufactured today exactly like these, using the same highest quality materials and engineering tolerances —- instead of plastics, graphite, and softer alloy metals —- they would each likely run in the $300+ range.
Instead, a pair of these lifetime reels that will handle most any fishing conditions —- are $200 for a member. Just about the same as I pay for a couple of tanks of gas.
And they are new.
I am making 6 more 110's, 6 more 220's, and have enough parts to make 4 more 221's. The 221 gears are the issue on these —- they are rare. Have plenty of 220 & 110 gears.
110 is only 8.6 ounces, 221 comes in at only 11 ounces.

:) Nice pair of reels !!
You sure make them look purty
Too purty to use. I like a little patina, avoids making me feel guilty for getting that first chip in the paint.
Fred,
I'll take a new 220 set up for a leftie.

Thanks, Eric —-
Will do. Rc'd your PM with address.

Definitely beautiful. But not too beautiful to use! Would be a shame not to put them to work. Somewhere down the line someone, (perhaps Fred's grandkids), will refurbish them for another multi-decade round.
