Title: Shimano Tekota 600 sticky drag
Post by: sparksey on May 30, 2025, 03:14:22 AM
I need some help from the experts. Working on a Shimano Tekota 600 and I am having problems with a very sticky drag. I have replaced the drag spring washers and disassembled the drag, cleaned and polished the metal drag washers with wet and dry paper and greased but it is still sticky. Any suggestions?

Did you replace the three carbon fiber drag washers?  Part 770 on attached schematic.  If so, you may need to crank down the drag and pull some line against the drag.  That will knock the high spots off the new carbon fiber.

Does it have the woven carbon "Dartanium 2" or the old "Dartanium" smooth black washers? The smooth ones are garbage and need replacing if it has them in it.
